Performing since the age of nine, Hunter has always followed his dream of being a singer. From a young age, he studied under several highly regarded vocal instructors and has been playing piano since the age of six. His musical discipline has allowed him to accomplish many things, including the confidence to perform in front of an audience.
Hunter is a two-time winner of the Illinois State National Anthem Contest and was chosen as one of nine to sing in the first Illinois Allstate Honors Vocal Jazz Ensemble, the first in the state’s history. He has performed all over the United States and recently traveled to Buenos Aires on an international tour with Millikin University’s flagship vocal jazz ensemble, OneVoice. Hunter also had the opportunity to travel to Shenzhen, China.
On Valentine’s Day of 2015, he performed an original duet with renowned aerialist and motivational speaker Jen Bricker during the annual Shane’s Inspiration “Eat Play Love” gala at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Hunter recently wrote, produced, and recorded his first original song, “Wings (Cole’s Song).” After debuting in Los Angeles, the song was professionally released on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, and many other music downloading mediums on Thanksgiving Day in 2015.
Hunter is currently an undergraduate student at Millikin University, studying Commercial Music with an emphasis in voice. This setting has given him the opportunity to be a recording artist and engineer at Millitrax, the university’s state of the art recording studio. Spending a majority of his time in the studio working with engineers, musicians, and other vocalists has allowed him to use highly effective social skills to create a smooth and productive working environment. He has also worked as a music producer and event emcee.
Modeling is also a passion of Hunter’s. He has worked with several photographers on many diverse projects. As a model, Hunter has developed the skill to quickly and effectively communicate with a photographer. His many years of performing, traveling, modeling, and studio hours have made him a strong leader who’s easy to work with.
Following his graduation from Millikin University in the spring of 2017, Hunter intends to move to Los Angeles, California to continue pursuing his dream of being a professional singer and recording artist. Having visited Los Angeles several times already, he is eager to see what the City of Angels has in store for him.
